【桑名】三味線や小唄の音色であでやかな舞を披露し、宴席に花を添える芸妓衆は、城下町「桑名」の伝統文化―。芸妓文化を絶やすことなく、後世へ残そうと、地元経済人が十八日夜、同市南魚町の老舗料亭「魚重楼」に集まって、「桑名伝統芸能を守る会」（服部醇会長）を発足した。

　城下町で栄えた同市。料亭が建ち並び、戦前の最盛期には百五十人もの芸妓衆で活気あふれた花街だが、戦後は八十人に。さらにバブル経済崩壊後は激減の一途をたどり、現在、同市で活動する芸妓は二十―六十代の十四人となった。

　芸妓衆の高齢化はあるが、芸妓組合が存続している同市は県内でも伝統が根付いている証しであり、観光資源でもあるとし、桑名地域全体で芸妓文化の振興と発展を支援する目的で、同会を設立した。桑名商工会議所の会員企業を中心に有志八十七人が賛同し、同商議所に事務局を置いた。

　発足会には服部会長はじめ四十四人と、同市で活動を続けている芸妓六人が出席。懇親や交流を通して「桑名の芸妓」の衆知について意見交換し、芸妓衆の舞の披露に拍手を送った。

　同商議所によると、将来的には後継者の育成につなげたいとしており、一般市民や主婦層が気軽に芸妓文化に触れるイベントの企画に乗り出していきたいという。

サイト管理者の判断で通信を遮断することが抑止に効果があるとする報告書をまとめた。
